The IIT Kanpur placement drive for 2022 has observed the participation of more recruiters visiting the campus. The number of placement offers has increased compared to the last year. In 2021, 821 offers were made on phase one of the IIT Kanpur placements this year it increased significantly with 1,300 offers. Even the highest domestic salary package saw a significant rise of approximately 46.34% in comparison to 2021. Quant-Box on the 2021 placement at IIT Kanpur gave a package of Rs 82 LPA and Rs 80 LPA, which were the highest salary offered that year. This year the highest salary rose to Rs 1.2 CPA. Students were provided excellent domestic placement offers from Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Cohesity, with Apple and Cohesity offering a package of Rs 60 LPA. Microsoft is one of the most active recruiters, other top recruiters of IIT Kanpur include Google, Apple, Intel, Axis Vmoc, Amazon, Zomato, ICICI Bank, etc.

All parts of placements at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur are handled by the Students' Placement Office (SPO), which is run and managed by efficient office personnel and students. The SPO team assists recruiters in every way imaginable, from contacting organizations to organizing all logistics of preparing for exams, pre-placement conversations, and performing final interviews. SPO's hospitality and operation are praised and favourably accepted by the visitors.

IIT Kanpur's Entrepreneurship Cell runs a Start-up Internship Program. They hope to collaborate with entrepreneurs through SIP who are willing to give internship chances to students. It's been 12 years since SIP was launched, and it's still going strong. Analytics, Design, Data Science, Engineering, Business Development, Finance, Consulting, and Marketing are areas where Summer Interns can be hired. SIP aids companies with student recruitment by offering tools and infrastructure, from resume distribution to conducting interviews and testing.
